Description/Explanation

MLT Dead Space Mash Lautering Tun dead space. For BIAB, this value is usually zero(0).
BK Dead Space The amount of wort that won't go into fermenter after boiling. It is the sum of trub and hop loss without using hop filters.
Boiloff rate Evaporation rate, in gallon or liter per hour.
Grain absorb rate The rate of wort absorbed by grain. The values vary from grain to grain, system to system. 0.125 gallon/lb or 1.042 liter/kg is a reasonable value.
Hop absorb rate The rate of wort absorbed by hop. Hop absorption might be accounted in BK Dead Space. Set it to zero(0) in this case. Otherwise, 0.5584 gal/lb or 4.66 L/kg is the value to try.
Wort expansion @ boil The volume expansion of wort at boiling temperature compare to that at room temperature. 4%, usually.
Wort expansion @ Mash The volume expansion of wort at mashing temperature compare to that at room temperature. 3%, usually.
Batch Size The volume of wort goes into fermenter.
Boil time Used to calculate evaporation.
Grain Amount Grain amount in the brew. Target OG will be changed on change of grain amount.
Hop Amount Hop amount in the brew.
Brew House Efficiency Brew House Efficiency. Target OG will be changed on change of Brew house efficiency.
Target OG Target Original Gravity into fermenter. Brew House Efficiency will be changed on change of Target OG.
Mash Thickness Used to calculate mash water in cases of Batch Sparge and Fly Sparge. Ignored on No Sparge.
Sparge Type The efficiency of fly sparge varies. Thefore, the calculation is baed on 3-batch Sparge.
Batch Sparge Number The number of sparging. Maximum 3. Numbers over 3 are treated as 3.

Calculation

Total Water Batch Size(amount into fermenter) + Boil off + Grain Absorption + Hop Absorption + BK DeadSpace + MLT DeadSpace
Mash Water Mash Thickness * Grain AMount + MLT DeadSpace
Sparge Water Total Water - Mash Water
Maximum First Wort Gravity Total sugar(gravity points) / Mash Water
Maximum pre-boil Wort Gravity Calculated based on Maximum First Wort Gravity with 3-batch sparge.
Maximum Origin Gravity Total sugar(gravity points) / Batch Size
Expected First Wort Gravity The value to get Pre-boil gravity so that target OG can be gotten.
Expected First Wort Volume Mash Water - Grain Absorption - MLT DeadSpace; The volume is "expanded" volume.
Expected Pre-boil Wort Gravity Calculated by deluated target OG.
Expected Pre-boil Wort Volume Expected Post-boil volume + Boil off; The volume is "expanded" volume.
Expected Post-Boil Wort Gravity Target OG.
Expected Post-boil Wort Volume Batch Size + BK DeadSpace + Hop Absorption; ; The volume is "expanded" volume.
Projected Gravity/Volume Calculatd based on available measured inputs or expected values.
